Be·aware Seminar (10-11 June 2025)

Introduction

This two-day seminar will serve as a platform for both retrospective reflection and forward-looking discussion on the Be·aware project led by the Bivwac team. The first day will focus on sharing progress and insights from ongoing Be·aware research, while the second day will open the conversation to a broader group of researchers working on related topics.

Be·aware brings together researchers from diverse disciplines, such as human-computer interaction, visualization, economics, and environmental sciences, to collaboratively explore how augmented reality (AR) systems can reduce the spatial and temporal distance between people’s choices and their environmental impact.

Now two-thirds into the project timeline, the goal of this seminar is to bring the team together to reflect on what has been accomplished so far and to explore new research directions and opportunities for future collaborations between members of the Be·aware team and researchers working on related topics. Continuing the cross-disciplinary spirit of Be·aware, the seminar will also seek to broaden our focus beyond environmental issues to address wider societal challenges.
